Gethsemane Philosophy
The Gethsemane church is a community of Seventh-day Adventist believers who are organized for edification, worship and evangelism. We believe that God is empowering us to share His love, with each other and with our larger community in a dynamic and holistic manner.

Gethsemane Vision Statement
Our vision represents a future of a church family that portrays God’s love and His soon return by continuous service to the community through our unique ministry development teams as an expansion of our own worship and service.
 
Gethsemane Mission Statement
Our mission is to live in loving fellowship, walk in the Master’s footsteps, reflect the character of God, lead others to Jesus and membership in His family, equip everyone for ministry.
 
Gethsemane Goals
  1. Membership Maturity -- Each member will continually mature in Christ by the provision of educational and nurturing systems for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development
  2. The Second Advent — each member will share the message of the second advent with the community through personal, and public evangelism
  3. Stewardship — the church will educate members on the principles of Christian stewardship to continually support the ministries of the church and provide for gospel dissemination
  4. Community Transformation — the church will satisfy specific community needs as part of its mission by establishing programs and services that meet community needs
  5. Facility — the church will continue to improve and upgrade its facility to meet its own needs and those of the community  

Twelve Differentiating Qualities of a Gethsemane  Church Member

A member of the Gethsemane Seventh-day Adventist church will be identified by the following characteristics: 
 

  1. Mission-Driven—motivated by the mission of spreading the Advent message to all the world in this generation
  2. Doctrinally informed-- have a knowledge of the church’s doctrines and the Bible’s teachings
  3. Prophecy Conscious—retains a knowledge of Bible prophecies
  4. Witness-prepared—uses soul-winning methods
  5. Skills-Driven—uses talents in God’s service
  6. Leadership-trained—follows principles of church administration
  7. Prayer-enhanced—members will be prayer warriors
  8. Health & Life-style aware --knowledgeable about health and wellness
  9. Community conscious --sensitive to the needs of the immediate community
  10. Technologically aware--utilizes technology in the gospel ministry
  11. Relationship-sensitive--Sensitive to issues of relationships, race, gender, ethnicity and nationality (ability to develop positive relationships across gender, race, nationality and ethnicity
  12. Stewardship-Directed-- utilizes practices holistic stewardship principles in time, talent and income

About Seventh-day Adventists 

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons--the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit--make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will.
